News Summary

Hex Technologies has released its 2025 State of Data Teams Report, revealing that a significant majority of data leaders (77%) are excited about the potential of AI, though only a small fraction (3%) see it as a central focus for their teams. The report, presented at the Snowflake Summit 2025, indicates that while data leaders are eager to embrace AI, they face challenges with implementation due to inadequate traditional business intelligence (BI) tools. The report highlights that 53% of data leaders are dissatisfied with their current BI tools, seeking more flexible, reliable, and AI-integrated alternatives. Hex’s partnership with Snowflake aims to address these challenges by integrating with Snowflake Semantic Views and Cortex AI, enhancing data quality and AI activation. This initiative supports organizations in delivering consistent insights across AI and BI workflows, ultimately improving ROI. Despite the anticipated AI disruption, data teams continue to grow, with 90% still hiring analysts and over 70% maintaining a direct line to the C-suite, underscoring their strategic importance.
