Dutch Startup QuantWare Advances Quantum Computing with €20 Million Series A

Global

News Summary

QuantWare, a Dutch startup founded in 2020, is making significant strides in quantum computing. With its proprietary 3D chip architecture, VIO, QuantWare aims to address scaling bottlenecks in quantum processing units (QPUs). The startup, a spinout of TU Delft and QuTech, has secured a €20 million Series A round, co-led by Invest-NL Deep Tech Fund and InnovationQuarter. This funding will support the expansion of its team and technology, including the development of its first QPU for quantum error correction, Contralto-A, which is designed for upgradability and is nearly twice as large as other commercially available solutions. QuantWare is also pursuing the distribution of its QPUs and offering its technology through Foundry and Packaging Services. Partnering with other well-funded quantum startups, QuantWare is poised to contribute to solving industrial-scale problems that traditional computing cannot address.
